A good deal of dry bright weather with some sunshine though with an increasing chance of showers through the day especially in the north and turning cold enough for snow above 900m. Strong to gale summit north or northwesterly winds so a high wind chill.
Thursday
The northerly airstream will turn colder and stronger still so quite frequent sleet or snow showers and gales causing severe wind chill. Freezing level 800m in north and 1000m in south and falling in showers.
Friday
A mainly dry and bright day with some sunny spells. Gales continuing to cause severe wind chill. Freezing level 800m.
