Cloudy and dull start across the region, but through the day some warm sunny spells are likely. During the afternoon there is an increasing risk of some heavy and potentially thundery downpours developing, particularly across Cumbria and Lancashire. Maximum Temperature 21 C.
Tonight:
Lingering heavy showers will gradually ease overnight and it will become generally cloudy, which will lead to a rather mild night for many. Minimum Temperature 9 C.
Tuesday:
Another cloudy start with some patchy rain in places, however it will become increasingly drier and brighter during the day. Some sharp showers may develop across eastern parts later. Maximum Temperature 17 C.
Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:
Some showers mainly across eastern parts of the region on Wednesday and Thursday and a strengthening northerly wind. Elsewhere, largely drier and brighter with sunny interludes. Feeling cooler than recently.
