Fog warning of yellow

Yellow warning of fog

Be aware

Valid from 05:30 on Tuesday until 09:00 on Tuesday

Patchy fog will become more widespread over the next couple of hours and locally dense, with visibility falling below 100 metres in places. The public should be aware of the possibility of some disruption to travel at first this morning.

Chief Forecaster's assessment

Clear skies, light winds and cold temperatures have allowed mist and fog patches to form quite widely across southern parts of England overnight. These are expected to become more widespread in the next couple of hours and locally dense, reducing visibility to 50 metres or less in places. The fog is expected to clear by mid morning.

The public is advised to take extra care, further information and advice can be found here: http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/warnings/
