Service details

Available for around 100 UK locations, this product provides detailed time-step forecasts out to five days, for a range of weather elements.

Summary of service details

  • Detailed five-day forecasts for around 100 UK locations.
  • File is split into two sections - time-step data and daily data.
  • Elements provided in time-step data - temperature (°C), cloud cover (oktas), wind speed (knots), wind direction (degrees), sea state code (see format section), weather type code (see format section)
  • Elements provided in daily data - maximum and minimum temperature (°C), and weather description (e.g. rain, cloudy, etc).
  • Forecasts are provided in three-hourly time-steps for the first two days (starting at 1200), then in six-hourly timesteps for the following three days for the time-step data
  • Forecasts are provided as a daily summary for the daily data.
  • CSV format.
  • The information is pushed from our server to yours via FTP push.
  • Updated once daily by 06 UTC (forecasts start from previous midday).
  • The complete file of 100 cities is sent to you via FTP but you then have to programme your site to only display the number of cities for which you have purchased a licence.
  • It is the number of cities information that you are licensed to display which is important not the actual locations.

This service is one of our top-end datafeeds, as it provides a great level of forecast detail for locations spread throughout the UK.
