The Met Office will present at MacKay Hannah's Green Investment Bank Conference in Edinburgh on 9 May 2013.
The Met Office is committed to the renewables industry through our continued investment in research and development across weather-related science to drive improvements to our Industry services, which makes us a valued partner to the renewables industry.
Alex Hill, Chief Government Advisor to Scotland & Northern Ireland at the Met Office will be presenting an interactive master class entitled 'Understanding the market and climate change'. It will examine the impact of climate change on the global supply chain and allow delegates to consider the impacts on their own supply chains from a regional, national and local scale. This will enable delegates to think about mitigation and adaptation techniques to improve efficiency, reduce costs and minimise risks to their organisation.
Delegates can also speak to the Renewable energy on our stand, and find out how our accurate and reliable weather and wind information can help them make informed decisions to benefit their renewables projects.
We can work with you to identify your risks, help you mitigate those risks, and provide support each stage of a wind project both onshore and offshore from initial planning, choosing an appropriate site, to managing construction, scheduling maintenance, monitoring health and safety risks through to predicting energy generation once your wind farm is up and running.
