GOSS Interactive has been chosen to provide the Met Office with a new web content management system, using GOSS iCM (intelligent Content Management).
Prior to the selection of GOSS Interactive, we used a manual approach to content management. The use of Goss iCM will allow us to better manage the life cycle of content on the site. It will also improve the targeting of content for specialist groups, such as those which have a requirement for weather and climate information.
GOSS was selected to deliver the project because of the ease-of-use and standards-based approach within GOSS iCM. The technology also fits with our core technologies and the robust product development methodology.
GOSS iCM comes with an easy-to-use interface for content creation, with workflows and scheduling to ensure content is managed efficiently. Content can be reused and re-purposed within single or multiple websites, which will help to deliver information to specific groups.
