23 May 2013 - Met Office forecasters are expecting some fine weather across the UK for most of the Bank Holiday weekend.
With a good deal of dry weather and some sunshine at times it will be an ideal time to get out and about.
The Met Office 'Days Out' Facebook app can help you make the most of the weather when planning days out over the weekend and the half term holiday. The app allows you to combine weather with national tourist attractions, find out what the most popular days out destinations are in your region. You can also see where your friends have visited, and most importantly check the latest weather forecast.
The Met Office Days Out app can be accessed via the Met Office Facebook page.
Saturday and Sunday should see everywhere enjoying dry and fine weather with sunny spells and temperatures in the mid teens Celsius. It looks as though the southeast of Britain will hold onto fine weather on Bank Holiday Monday while cloud and rain spreads in from the west elsewhere.
Bob Wilderspin, Deputy Chief Forecaster at the Met Office said: "Although we'll see some cold and wet weather in places on Friday, it looks as though much of the UK will enjoy fine spring weather for much of this weekend. Everywhere should see sunny spells and it should feel warm in the sunshine, but we can expect some rain to move in from the west on Monday."
Looking forward into the half term break and it looks as though we will see a return to changeable conditions in all areas, with a mixture of sunshine and showers.
