Outlook for the UK over the next 6-30 days

UK Outlook for Tuesday 23 Sep 2014 to Thursday 2 Oct 2014:

At first it should be dry for most with some good sunny spells. Northwestern areas though are likely to be cloudier with some rain or drizzle. It will also be breezy here with the risk of gales in the far northwest. As we go through the week the more unsettled conditions look set to spread across many northern and western parts, with some heavy spells of rain. Southern, and southeastern areas in particularly, are probably going to hold onto the drier and brighter weather with some sunny periods, and perhaps a few showers. Temperatures will be around normal, if not warm in the south and east. The setup looks to remain similar heading into the following week; unsettled in the north and west, some rain in the south and east.

UK Outlook for Thursday 2 Oct 2014 to Thursday 16 Oct 2014:

The first half of October is likely to see more changeable conditions across the UK, with a mixture of fine and settled weather, interspersed with occasional unsettled spells. The drier and brighter conditions, with some warm sunshine, is then expected to be most prolonged across the south and east, whilst outbreaks of rain would then be most frequent across the north and west. During the more settled conditions daytime temperatures are likely to be around, and often above, average although it could turn quite chilly overnight with a risk of fog patches in places. However during any more unsettled spells, daytime temperatures are then likely to be below or close to average.
