Mostly dry except for a few spots of rain across the Isles and southwest where it will be quite cloudy. However much of Invernesshire, Cromarty and eastern Caithness seeing sunny intervals. Mostly light winds, a little breezier across the Isles. Maximum Temperature 9 °C.


Southern and western parts mostly cloudy and mild with the odd spot of light rain during the evening. Clearer skies around Inverness and Caithness with some frost and fog. Minimum Temperature 1 °C.


An often cloudy start with some stubborn fog patches, however this thinning and breaking to allow good sunny intervals through the day. Maximum Temperature 9 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Mostly dry with variable cloud and some bright spells, although some light rain later Sunday and early Monday. Then turning breezier on Tuesday with thicker cloud and some light rain.

It will be a frosty start across Wales and central and southern England, with a cold and sunny day in store. Some sunshine for northern Scotland but generally cloudy in other parts of the north.


Cold and frosty across the UK, with clearing skies across northern England and Northern Ireland. A few fog patches likely. Cloudier across Scotland, with some parts staying frost-free.


Mostly settled with variable cloud and some bright spells but staying dry for most. A few drizzly showers are likely across central parts though, possibly turning wintry on high ground.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Mostly settled. Some light showers on Sunday. Cold and frosty overnight, fog likely in the south on Monday and Tuesday, perhaps slow to clear. Unsettled in the north-west later Tuesday.

On Tuesday and Wednesday most places should be dry with sunny spells, although there is a risk of fog at times in the south. It will be windier in the west with outbreaks of rain gradually moving east. Temperatures will be quite cold for many, but milder later in the west. During the rest of the period, milder, unsettled conditions are expected to affect most of the country. Bands of rain will cross the country, interspersed with brighter, showery interludes. It will become windy with gales likely at times, especially in the north-west. The heaviest rain is likely in northern and western areas, with drier conditions in the south-east. Temperatures should be around average to mild, although there is a low chance of the south-east keeping colder than average conditions.

UK Outlook for Friday 3 Feb 2017 to Friday 17 Feb 2017:

Looking ahead to the start of February confidence is fairly low. However, the most likely scenario is that Atlantic low pressure systems will continue to bring spells of wet and windy weather to all at times, though this will be interspersed with drier and brighter interludes. Temperatures will generally be around average for this time of year, though with occasional milder spells associated with the unsettled weather. It looks increasingly likely that an area of high pressure will begin to become dominant again towards the middle of February, bringing more settled conditions with the return of overnight frost and patches of fog, although the chance of very cold conditions developing is low.
