Regional Forecast for South West England

Headline:

Dry with sunny spells, but turning cloudier later.

Today:

The south of the region may start cloudy, otherwise many will have a dry and bright start with plenty of sunny spells. However, cloud will thicken from the west later, but in light winds it should feel warm. Maximum temperature 22 °C.

Tonight:

Generally dry overnight with clear spells at first, although cloud will thicken as the night progresses. Towards dawn the odd spot of light of rain is possible. Minimum temperature 13 °C.

Tuesday:

Tuesday will be cloudy with sporadic outbreaks of rain, perhaps with the odd heavier burst. A few may see the odd brighter spell, where it will feel a little humid. Maximum temperature 21 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Unsettled with spells of rain, particularly on Wednesday when it could be heavy and persistent. Turning much windier later in the week but feeling rather cool with limited brightness.

Updated: 01:29 on Mon 26 Jun 2017 BST

UK forecast for the next 5 days

Headline:

Mainly dry, but rain arriving across Northern Ireland later.

Today:

Dry for most with bright or sunny spells, the best of these likely across southeast England where it will be warm. Scattered showers across Scotland, but cloud will thicken in the west with rain setting in across Northern Ireland later.

Tonight:

Rain will become heavy and persistent across Northern Ireland before spreading into Scotland and northern England later. Elsewhere, generally dry, cloudy and mild but chilly across the Northern Isles.

Tuesday:

Cloudy with outbreaks of rain for many, these often heavy across the north although tending to ease through the day. Perhaps brighter in the west later.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Unsettled with spells of rain, heavy at times and only occasionally drier and brighter. Windier from Thursday and generally feeling cool, although warmer and humid at times in the south.

Updated: 01:26 on Mon 26 Jun 2017 BST

Outlook for the UK over the next 6-30 days

UK Outlook for Friday 30 Jun 2017 to Sunday 9 Jul 2017:

Friday is likely to become breezy and showery across the country. Saturday could well be drier for a time before further rain moves in during the evening or overnight. Sunday and the following week will stay changeable with showers or longer spells of rain. There will also be some drier and brighter spells, which will be most likely in the south and east. In the northwest, showers are likely to be heavier, perhaps bringing a risk of thunder at times. It will sometimes be windy, especially in the north and west where there will be a risk of local gales at times. Temperatures are expected to stay near the seasonal average throughout, or be rather cool.

UK Outlook for Monday 10 Jul 2017 to Monday 24 Jul 2017:

The changeable weather is likely to continue in the north at first, bringing further showers or longer spells of rain with only brief bright or sunny spells in between. However, drier and warmer spells are likely to become more prevalent in the south and these may spread further north as we head into the second half of the month. These would bring more in the way of sunshine and higher temperatures, and there could be some very warm spells. However, an increase in temperatures would pose the threat of some thundery showers.
