Today:

A bright, cold day with some good spells of sunshine. A few scattered snow showers likely at times, although these becoming more isolated this afternoon. Less windy than of late although still a brisk northerly wind along the east coast. Maximum Temperature 4C.

Tonight:

Any wintry showers dying out this evening to leave a largely dry night with clear periods and a widespread sharp frost. Some isolated freezing fog patches across Armagh and Fermanagh. Minimum Temperature -5C.

Monday:

After a frosty start it will be cold and dry with some bright or sunny intervals. Some rain or snow likely to spread southeastwards in the evening. Maximum Temperature 3C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Bright intervals and sleet or snow showers on Monday. Mainly dry with sunny or clear spells on Tuesday and Wednesday. Remaining bitterly cold with occasionally strong northerly winds.

Today:

Showers across northern Scotland and Northern Ireland giving some snow, and also across parts of eastern England. Dry and sunny elsewhere, but parts of Wales and southern England seeing a slight covering of snow at first. Cold with icy patches.

Tonight:

Wintry showers in Northern Ireland and northern Scotland continuing, but easing. Otherwise mostly dry with clear spells, and winds easing across the UK. Very cold with frost and icy patches.

Monday:

Starting very cold and frosty with icy patches, then many staying dry with sunny spells. A band of rain, sleet and snow moves south into Scotland in the afternoon.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Windy with a band of rain, sleet and snow moving south Tuesday, further showers moving into northeast. Mostly dry south and west, with wintry showers north and east from Wednesday.

Outlook for the UK over the next 6-30 days

UK Outlook for Friday 6 Feb 2015 to Sunday 15 Feb 2015:

The cold weather will continue through Friday and Saturday, particularly in the south. There is likely to be some snow showers in the southeast at first, with widespread overnight frosts. There is a risk of more widespread rain and snow over north-western parts from Saturday as conditions are likely to become more influenced by the Atlantic. Temperatures gradually becoming less cold here, although the transition period will have the potential for further snow in places. Elsewhere, conditions will be mainly dry with some sunshine. Through the second week of February, temperatures will remain near or just below average and it will be often dry, particularly in the south. However, it will be generally more unsettled in the northwest and less cold, under the influence of Atlantic air.

UK Outlook for Monday 16 Feb 2015 to Monday 2 Mar 2015:

Whilst changeable Atlantic conditions will likely prevail at the start of the period, mainly in the north, it currently looks most probable that a period of more settled weather will dominate in the south. This leaves most parts of the UK with slightly drier, and colder conditions than average with overnight frosts and patchy fog likely at times.
