Rain at first clearing to blustery showers before mid-morning. Showers mostly light, but turning heavier by late afternoon, particularly across northern areas such as County Derry and Antrim. Winds strong to gale force. Maximum Temperature 12C.

Tonight:

The showers will merge into longer periods of rain for a time during the evening, again with heaviest outbreaks expected across the north. Winds easing. Minimum Temperature 5C.

Sunday:

Showers again, mainly across the north where some will be heavy, but outbreaks become isolated for southern areas from afternoon. Winds light, increasing strong to gale during afternoon. Maximum Temperature 9C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Belt of rain pushing across area later Monday. However, sunshine and showers for the most part, these mainly across the north with some heavier across northern coasts.

Windy for all parts with gales, especially across northern and western Scotland and northeast England, but steadily easing. Rain clearing south-eastwards and easing with sunny spells following. Showers developing in the north and west, possibly wintry over Scottish hills.

Tonight:

Mainly dry with clear spells at first. Windy in the north with showers continuing in the northwest, locally heavy. Rain and gales spreading to Wales and southwest England by morning.

Sunday:

Windy with local gales likely. Rain, locally heavy in the west, clearing eastwards while brighter, showery conditions in the north spread south-eastwards. Showers locally wintry with thunder in the northwest.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Windy with gales likely on Monday with rain spreading east. Drier and brighter Tuesday with blustery showers, heavy and wintry in north with gales. Wintry showers in the north Wednesday.

Outlook for the UK over the next 6-30 days

UK Outlook for Thursday 2 Apr 2015 to Saturday 11 Apr 2015:

Cool and showery weather will continue affecting some northern parts on Thursday, whilst further south it will turn cloudier with some rain crossing eastwards, and eventually clearing away southeast during Friday. Into the Easter weekend, it is most likely that we'll see less windy conditions with more fine and dry weather around, though it is likely to feel cool at times with some showers possible for all. Thereafter changeable conditions are expected, most often across the north, whilst high pressure close to the south of the UK, perhaps occasionally amplifying northwards across the UK, is likely to bring some more prolonged drier and brighter conditions across the south west in particular. Temperatures will generally be near average, occasionally just above in sunnier spells, though with localised overnight frost also possible.

UK Outlook for Sunday 12 Apr 2015 to Sunday 26 Apr 2015:

The changeable period is expected to continue, with unsettled conditions interspersed with some spells of fine weather. With a westerly weather type most likely showery outbreaks or longer spells of rain are likely to affect parts of the UK throughout the period. These unsettled conditions will be most frequent across the northwest, although extending further south and east at times. There will also be some drier, brighter and settled periods, these most prolonged the south and east, and perhaps also later in the period. Temperatures are expected to remain close to the average for the middle of April. However they will vary from day to day, and there are likely to be some cold nights, especially in the north where localised frosts remain possible.
