Starting bright, but thicker cloud and wintry showers quickly developing, some heavy with hail and thunder. Becoming very windy later with near gale force West winds on coasts. Maximum Temperature 10C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

The cold showery theme will continue, sunny spells with passing wintry showers, some heavy with hail. Windy at times. Fewer showers Thursday with longer sunny spells.

Most places will be dry and clear, leading to a cold night with a patchy frost in places. However, further wintry showers will continue to affect parts of northern Scotland and later across Northern Ireland.

Monday:

Sunny spells and showers for many parts. Showers most frequent in the north and west, locally heavy and thundery, and wintry across some northern areas. Windy and rather cold.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Rather cold and breezy throughout with sunshine and showers, heavy in places and wintry across some northern areas. More persistent rain and strong winds on Wednesday, clearing eastwards on Thursday.

UK Outlook for Friday 1 May 2015 to Sunday 10 May 2015:

Friday 1st May is likely to be mainly settled, but cool. Most places should remain dry with some sunny spells, though a few showers are possible, mainly in the north and east. Similar conditions will probably prevail over north and eastern parts through Saturday, but it will turn more unsettled again in the south and west with thicker cloud and some outbreaks of rain developing. These will probably move NE to affect all parts by Bank Holiday Monday. The rest of the period is expected to remain unsettled, with the wettest and windiest conditions being in the north and west, and the best of the drier and brighter spells in the southeast. Temperatures through the period are likely to be below average with local night frosts, especially in the north.

UK Outlook for Monday 11 May 2015 to Monday 25 May 2015:

Changeable and at times unsettled conditions are most likely to persist for much of this period, though it may turn less unsettled from around mid-May onwards. These conditions are fairly typical for the time of year, with most areas experiencing spells of fine and bright weather interspersed with more changeable conditions. The most unsettled conditions are more probable across central and northern areas, with transient spells of more settled weather more likely in the in the south and southeast, especially later on in the month. Daytime temperatures are likely to be near or little below average, especially during any unsettled spells. As is common for the time of year, spells of settled weather are likely to be accompanied by chilly evenings with isolated overnight frost in rural areas.
