Regional Forecast for London & South East England

Headline:

Mostly dry overnight, some rain tomorrow morning, then becoming brighter.

This Evening and Tonight:

Any isolated evening showers in the west soon dying away to leave mostly dry conditions with some clearer periods. However, cloud amounts increasing in the west towards dawn with some patchy rain and a freshening breeze. Remaining mild. Minimum Temperature 12C.

Friday:

Cloudy at first with some showery rain moving east, turning drier and brighter into the afternoon with sunny intervals developing and just the odd light shower. A little less warm. Maximum Temperature 18C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

Feeling fresher on Saturday with showers, locally heavy and thundery. Sunday, dry, fine, rather warm with light winds. Continuing dry and bright on Monday, perhaps breezier later.

Updated: 13:11 on Thu 30 Mar 2017 BST

UK forecast for the next 5 days

Headline:

Warm, but not as warm as yesterday.

Today:

Early rain will soon clear, then England and Wales will have a warm bright day with a few showers. Heavy rain in the far north of England, in Scotland and in Northern Ireland will clear northwards during the afternoon.

Tonight:

After evening sunshine, the eastern side of the country, as well as central England at first, will have a dry, clear but mild night. More rain will affect the west.

Saturday:

Appropriately for the start of April, sunshine and showers will dominate Saturday's weather, including some heavy downpours. The southerly breeze will die down and it will become a little cooler.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Sunday will be bright, warm and dry. Monday and Tuesday will stay dry, bright and quite warm for most, but incursions of rain and stronger winds will affect the north-west.

Updated: 01:13 on Fri 31 Mar 2017 BST

Outlook for the UK over the next 6-30 days

UK Outlook for Tuesday 4 Apr 2017 to Thursday 13 Apr 2017:

Tuesday will be largely cloudy but rather warm, with some light and patchy rain, but it will become drier and brighter by Wednesday, although cooler. By midweek, high pressure will become more dominant and the dry, bright weather will spread across much of country for a few days, with light winds. The greatest risk of thicker cloud and outbreaks of rain will be in the northwest, and the best of the sunshine and the warmest temperatures will be in the south. A good deal of settled and dry weather is then likely, especially in the south where it will be warm. More changeable weather will affect the northwest especially though, with some rain and strong winds at times.

UK Outlook for Friday 14 Apr 2017 to Friday 28 Apr 2017:

The middle of April may see more unsettled conditions for a while with short periods of cloud, rain and strong winds particularly affecting the north and west of the UK. Dry and calm conditions are more likely to dominate though, especially in the south and then later in the month for many. Temperatures are expected to be warmer than average, but with rather chilly nights at times, which will lead to frost in a few places. Any colder spells are likely to be short-lived however, although there are some hints that these may become more prevalent later in the month.
