Tonight:

Isolated thundery showers should continue north in the evening to leave a dry but close remainder of the night as winds fall light. Minimum Temperature 17°C.

UK forecast for the next 5 days

Largely fine and locally very hot. Isolated severe thunderstorms.

Today:

Many parts will enjoy a fine day with sunny spells. Despite this, isolated thunderstorms may develop, mainly across central and western parts and perhaps becoming more widespread across northern England and Scotland later. Widely hot but locally very hot.

Tonight:

Thunderstorms across northern areas moving north, clearing most parts by dawn. Largely dry and clear elsewhere before thundery showers push north across some southern areas later. Warm and muggy.

Thursday:

Overnight showery rain, possibly thundery, transferring east through the day. Drier elsewhere but with locally heavy showers across northern parts. Less hot for most but staying warm or very warm.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Friday, fine and becoming very warm with thundery outbreaks later. Saturday, storms easing with clearer fresher weather following. Sunday, largely fine but with showers across northwestern and possibly southeastern areas.

Outlook for the UK over the next 6-30 days

UK Outlook for Monday 6 Jul 2015 to Wednesday 15 Jul 2015:

Monday looks to start bright for most with perhaps only a few showers affecting north and western parts of the country. However as we go through the afternoon there is an increasing risk of some rain spreading into the west and northwest at times, and there is a low risk of isolated thundery showers developing late on Monday afternoon in the South East, but most places here will remain dry and fine. Becoming slightly cloudier and cooler generally towards the middle of the week, before temperatures building again towards the weekend, with a risk of thundery showers pushing up from the continent at times. Temperatures will remain near or slightly above average for many, though the very warm, humid conditions could perhaps return to the south and southeast at times.

UK Outlook for Thursday 16 Jul 2015 to Thursday 30 Jul 2015:

Many southern and central parts of the UK are likely to be mostly dry, often with fine, warm conditions. Out towards the north and northwest there will be some cloudier conditions with rain at times, however even here any periods of rain may well be less frequent than normal with some good periods of dry weather expected. Temperatures are likely to be around average in the northwest, but in the southeast there will be spells of very warm weather for the time of year, and could possibly become hot at times with a low risk of occasional thundery outbreaks.
