UK forecast for the next 5 days

Feeling cold with further wintry showers, and turning icy.

Wintry showers giving hill snow, these mostly across Scotland and Northern Ireland, but some travelling south across England and Wales later. Cold with icy stretches developing. Strong winds in the west with gales in the far northwest, spreading south later.

Saturday:

Turning colder still across the north, with showers turning to snow again even at low levels. Feeling very cold in the strong winds, gales in exposed northern and western parts.

Outlook for the UK over the next 6-30 days

UK Outlook for Wednesday 4 Feb 2015 to Friday 13 Feb 2015:

The cold weather will continue with northerly winds through Wednesday and Thursday likely bringing hail, sleet and snow showers across northern parts and perhaps also to eastern coastal areas, with widespread overnight frosts. There is a low probability of more widespread rain and snow over western parts at this time too. From Friday onwards it is thought that conditions will gradually become more influenced by the Atlantic with temperatures returning nearer to normal, although the transition period will have the potential for further snow in places. Conditions would then settle into a changeable pattern with unsettled periods of weather being interspersed by temporary settled conditions. Towards the middle of February there is a possibility that the more unsettled conditions will shift north, becoming more settled in the south.

UK Outlook for Saturday 14 Feb 2015 to Saturday 28 Feb 2015:

Whilst changeable Atlantic conditions will likely prevail at the start of the period, it currently it looks most probable that a period of more settled weather will become established, at least for a time, across most parts of the UK with slightly drier, and colder conditions than average. Temperatures will be cold across the UK, especially overnight, with frosts likely at times.
