Very windy with bright or sunny spells and blustery showers, these again heavy in places and wintry across the Derbyshire Peaks. Feeling cold in the strong locally gale force winds. Maximum Temperature 9C.

Tonight:

Winds slowly easing overnight with scattered showers continuing, mainly over the Derbyshire hills. Sheltered eastern parts becoming mostly dry with some good clear spells developing. Minimum Temperature 3C.

Wednesday:

Another day of bright or sunny spells and scattered showers, although most places becoming dry during the evening. Winds continuing to ease through the day. Maximum Temperature 9C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Mainly dry with bright or sunny intervals on Thursday after early ground frost. Mostly cloudy with occasional rain on Friday. Becoming mostly dry Saturday.

Today:

Windy, with gales in places, severe for northwestern coasts. Chilly, with sunny intervals and scattered showers, with hail, sleet and snow at times in the north, although any accumulations limited to hills. Best of the sunshine in the southeast.

Tonight:

Winds only gradually easing overnight, with further gales possible in places. Showers continuing, wintry in the north, with the best of the dry and clear spells in the east.

Wednesday:

Another showery day, with winds continuing to gradually ease. However sunny spells will become restricted to the north and east during the afternoon, as cloud thickens from the southwest.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Cloud and outbreaks of rain gradually spreading east Thursday, wintry in the north. Staying cloudy Friday with further rain at times. Turning drier, with variable cloud, and brighter spells Saturday.

Outlook for the UK over the next 6-30 days

UK Outlook for Saturday 4 Apr 2015 to Monday 13 Apr 2015:

Probably a fair amount of cloud around Saturday and Sunday. Also most likely a good deal of dry weather, though some southern and western parts may see some early rain Saturday and some eastern parts may catch isolated showers this weekend. Winds will be mainly light, and daytime temperatures most likely near or just below average. Into Easter Monday, outbreaks of rain and stronger winds are likely to affect northwestern parts, whilst other areas remain largely dry and bright. The unsettled conditions then look likely to spread further across the UK by mid-week, many parts breezier then too. Thereafter, northwestern areas are likely to have the most changeable conditions with spells of rain interspersed with colder, showery weather, with the best of the drier and brighter conditions to the southeast.

UK Outlook for Tuesday 14 Apr 2015 to Tuesday 28 Apr 2015:

During the second half of April conditions are considered most likely to be broadly typical for the time of year. As such some spells of fine, dry weather are likely, the best of these probably over southern regions, but occasional bouts of more unsettled weather with rain or showers should also be expected, perhaps more especially in the north. During fine spells maximum temperatures are likely to be near or a little above average, whilst during showery spells daytime temperatures may well be below average, especially in the north. Some cold nights, with localised frost, are also likely at times.
