Yorkshire & Humber weather forecast

Headline:

Changeable, with a mixture of brighter spells and some rain.

Today:

A bright start for many, but quickly clouding over, with the odd outbreak of light rain late morning. Cloud will clear again early afternoon to allow some sunny spells. Feeling rather mild, with light winds. Maximum temperature 15 °C.

Tonight:

Cloud will increase from the west this evening, with rain arriving overnight, heaviest and most persistent over western hills. Winds will strengthen, becoming strong over high ground. Minimum temperature 8 °C.

Tuesday:

Cloudy with outbreaks of rain at first, this gradually clearing eastwards to allow sunny spells and isolated showers to develop during the afternoon. Winds easing, falling light by the evening. Maximum temperature 15 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Largely cloudy Wednesday and Thursday, with outbreaks of rain at times. Brighter spells Friday, but with locally heavy showers. Temperatures around normal, but feeling cooler in stronger winds from Thursday.

Updated:

UK long range weather forecast

Cloudy across the far south at first on Friday, with some patchy light rain and drizzle clearing southwards early in the day. Elsewhere, a mixture of clear or sunny spells and showers. The showers will be heavy at times with a risk of thunder, and most frequent across the north and northwest. Through the weekend, northwesterly winds will bring a mixture of sunny spells and showers, some of these heavy. A drier spell may develop later in the weekend with temperatures likely to be below normal for many areas. Into the following week, more unsettled conditions will probably develop across parts of the UK, these most likely to affect southern areas. Northern areas are more likely to be dry but also colder.

Updated:

Into April pressure is likely to be higher than average to the north of the UK, with low pressure more likely to the west or southwest. This pattern tends to push the focus of unsettled weather further south than usual, with highest rainfall most likely to be in the south of the UK. Conversely, northern areas tend to be drier compared to normal. Temperatures will probably be near average or slightly above overall, with any cooler interludes most likely in the north.
