UK video forecast

Grampian weather forecast

Headline:

Dry and sunny for today. Northerly breezes.

Today:

A fine dry day with sunshine quite widespread, particularly across central and southern areas. However not feeling spring like with winds set from the north. Maximum temperature 11 °C.

Tonight:

Most dry with good clear spells bringing a rural frost for some southern areas. Cloudier in north where the odd light shower may develop. Northerly breezes persisting. Minimum temperature 0 °C.

Wednesday:

Most dry with further good sunny spells. However temperatures down a couple of degrees from Tuesday as northerly breezes persist. Chance of isolated light showers appearing around the Moray coasts. Maximum temperature 9 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Largely dry with occasional brighter spells Thursday, but a few light showers may appear. Showers building from the north and east through Friday and Saturday.

Updated:

UK long range weather forecast

An uncertain start to the period though likely unsettled as a frontal system pushes into southern areas and possibly across the UK through the weekend. Beyond this low pressure patterns becoming more dominant than of late with wet weather perhaps more likely to develop in parts of the south and east, with western and especially northern areas hanging on to the best of any drier interludes, though all parts are may see some rain at times. Onshore winds along eastern coasts will likely make it feel rather cold at times, though for all parts temperatures will likely trend back toward average. Into early May, something of a north-south split looks possible, with relatively drier conditions further to the north and the greatest chance of rain further to the south.

Updated:

In this period, the chances of unsettled weather are slightly less than usual in the north and increased briefly before falling average further south. Therefore, some spells of wetter weather are likely for all, but perhaps especially southern areas with the driest conditions probably further north. Temperatures will probably be near or a little below average, before returning to average late in the period, though it is worth noting that average temperatures themselves rise by around 1C per week at this time of year.
