The thundery showers in the southwest will become more widespread across the south. Similar to previous nights, fog and low cloud is set to develop widely across eastern and central areas. A mild night for many.

Friday:

Scattered heavy, thundery showers across the south, and some rain for northwest Scotland. Misty start elsewhere, staying rather cloudy but dry with the best of the brightness in the west.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

Warm sunny spells developing away from the northeast Saturday. Largely dry but some thundery showers possible southern and central parts. Mainly fine Sunday and Monday but rain in northwest later.

UK Outlook for Tuesday 23 Sep 2014 to Thursday 2 Oct 2014:

At first it should be dry for most with some good sunny spells. Northwestern areas though are likely to be cloudier with some rain or drizzle. It will also be breezy here with the risk of gales in the far northwest. As we go through the week the more unsettled conditions look set to spread across many northern and western parts, with some heavy spells of rain. Southern, and southeastern areas in particularly, are probably going to hold onto the drier and brighter weather with some sunny periods, and perhaps a few showers. Temperatures will be around normal, if not warm in the south and east. The setup looks to remain similar heading into the following week; unsettled in the north and west, some rain in the south and east.

UK Outlook for Friday 3 Oct 2014 to Friday 17 Oct 2014:

The UK is likely to see changeable conditions through this period, with a mixture of fine and settled weather, interspersed with occasional unsettled spells. The drier and brighter conditions are expected to be most prolonged across the south and east. Here, daytime temperatures are likely to be around, and often above, average with some warm sunshine. However it could turn quite chilly during the nights, with a risk of fog patches in places. Northern and western parts are likely to see more in the way of outbreaks of rain. Daytime temperatures here are set to be below or close to average.
