    Regional forecast for South West England

    Mostly dry with sunny spells.


    It'll be cold at first this morning with some fog and low cloud that will be slow to clear. Some sunny spells will develop though and it will stay largely dry. Maximum Temperature 13 °C.


    Some showers will affect the south coast of Devon and Cornwall where it'll become windy later. Elsewhere, becoming dry but chilly with a risk of some mist and low cloud. Minimum Temperature 3 °C.


    Low cloud will be slow to lift. Sunny spells developing into the afternoon but it'll become windy with coastal gales in the far west and rain in the south later. Maximum Temperature 14 °C.

    Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

    Patchy rain will continue on Monday, with some heavy outbreaks but the winds will ease. Tuesday will be cloudy and damp but it'll become largely dry and bright by Wednesday.

    Mist and fog will be slow to clear this morning with some sunny spells developing. There'll be showers in the north and east at first, with a scattering of showers developing elsewhere during the afternoon.


    Further showers will affect eastern and central parts tonight. Dry for most but with a risk of frost in the west, with fog in the south. Windy in southwest later.


    Fog and low cloud will lift slowly, with sunny spells and showers in the north. Dry and bright further south but windy, with gales in the southwest and rain later.

    Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

    Cloudy with patchy rain in the south Monday, this dying out Tuesday with some brighter weather developing here. Sunny spells elsewhere Monday and Tuesday but rain arriving in northwest Wednesday.

    Outlook for the UK over the next 6-30 days

    UK Outlook for Thursday 27 Oct 2016 to Saturday 5 Nov 2016:

    A north-west, south-east split is likely for Thursday with light winds, dry weather and overnight mist and fog in the south-east. The north-west will be wetter, windier with some bright interludes and a risk of gales at times. However, many places becoming settled later on Friday. High pressure then looks to become established across the south for a time, with a good deal of dry and quiet weather around, with overnight mist and fog slow to clear by day. Meanwhile, the north-west could be be wet and windy at times. Temperatures will probably be mostly above the average, but with some cold nights in the south, with local frost. Possibly turning colder as we go into early November as the high moves north-westwards bringing a north-westerly flow for many.

    UK Outlook for Sunday 6 Nov 2016 to Sunday 20 Nov 2016:

    There is a lot of uncertainty with regard to this part of the forecast. At first at least it looks likely that the weather pattern will remain quite blocked, meaning that it will be slow to change and probably a stay a bit drier than normal. With this we are also less likely to see strong winds and the typical occasional stormy conditions that we usually see during the autumn. Given the time of year, and the predominance of a blocked pattern, temperatures may be on the cold side of normal. Later in November we may start to see more unsettled, changeable and sometimes windy weather again, but mainly in the northwest.
