Windy with outbreaks of rain continuing, heavy at times.

    Saturday:

The rain will gradually clear to the east and most parts will become dry by the afternoon. However, further rain will likely move across eastern parts later in the day. Maximum Temperature 15C.

    Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Rain affecting the east of the region at first on Sunday, perhaps clearing for a time before returning westwards later on Monday into Tuesday. Some cold nights where rain clears.

Issued at: 1600 on Fri 21 Nov 2014

UK forecast for the next 5 days

Rain continues to spread northeastwards. Windy in the north.

    This Evening and Tonight:

Low cloud and outbreaks of rain will continue moving northeastwards across Scotland. Rain will turn heavy at times, particularly across western areas of England and Wales. Windy in the north and northeast. A mild night under the cloud and rain.

    Saturday:

Patchy rain continuing across the southeast, perhaps moving north-westwards and turning heavier later. Elsewhere turning generally drier and brighter, but staying wet and windy in the far northeast.

    Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Rain affecting the south and east on Sunday, perhaps clearing for a time on Monday, then likely returning northwestwards on Tuesday. Otherwise showery rain in the northwest and drier elsewhere.

Issued at: 1600 on Fri 21 Nov 2014

Outlook for the UK over the next 6-30 days

UK Outlook for Wednesday 26 Nov 2014 to Friday 5 Dec 2014:

High pressure and settled conditions over the northeast will decline through Wednesday as unsettled weather across the south and southwest extends northwards. There will be spells of rain in the south and associated strengthening winds. Northeastern areas are most likely to see the best of any drier and brighter weather, with the risk of overnight frost and fog under clear spells. The unsettled conditions are likely to spread to all parts from Thursday onwards, with the heaviest rain and strongest winds most likely to affect western areas. Eastern areas are likely to see the best of any drier interludes. Temperatures will mostly be around normal for the time of year, with some chilly starts and occasional overnight frost.

UK Outlook for Saturday 6 Dec 2014 to Saturday 20 Dec 2014:

The most probable scenario is for a continuation of unsettled and, at times, windy weather, especially in western parts of the UK, with eastern parts seeing the best of any dry weather. Temperatures are generally expected to be around or a little above average for the time of year. There is a chance of some overnight and morning frost and fog in places - this will be more likely across northern areas where there is also a chance of some snow on higher ground.
