    A few late showers but most areas dry with some evening sunny spells. Tonight starts dry but rain reaches western counties after midnight and spreads east to all parts overnight. Winds turn to the south and freshen. Less cold overnight. Minimum Temperature 6 °C.

    Sunday:

    A dull rainy start, then a drier interlude late morning to lunchtime before rain becomes persistent again mid-afternoon. The evening then drier and brighter. Windy and milder than recent. Maximum Temperature 14 °C.

    Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

    Monday and Tuesday brings sunshine and blustery showers, these occasionally heavy with thunder during the afternoons. Wednesday rather cloudy with some patchy rain, this mostly confined to the north coast.

    Showers will die out leaving many places dry and cold, with patchy frost and fog across southern and eastern Britain. It will turn wet and windy across the Northern Ireland and northwest Scotland during the second half of the night.

    Sunday:

    Rain and brisk winds in the northwest will move slowly south-eastwards, fragmenting with time. Many southern parts will see very little rain, with the southeast staying dry and bright.

    Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

    Rain across the south on Monday, sunshine and blustery showers further north. Further showers on Tuesday, but dry, bright and warmer for many by Wednesday away from the far northwest.

    UK Outlook for Thursday 5 May 2016 to Saturday 14 May 2016:

    A north-south split is expected on Thursday and Friday, with brisk winds, showers or longer spells of rain in the north and drier, sunnier and much warmer conditions in the south. Through the weekend and next week, occasional spells of rain and drier, brighter interludes are expected for the west and southwest. Eastern and northeastern parts are likely to see plenty of dry and bright weather, but with a risk of thundery showers in southern parts at times. Overall, temperatures are expected to be near or a little above average, but the north may see temperatures a little below average at first. In the south temperatures may be well above average at times, giving a much warmer feel than of late.

    UK Outlook for Sunday 15 May 2016 to Sunday 29 May 2016:

    Through the second half of May, the most likely scenario is for unsettled weather across western parts, with showers or longer spells of rain but also some bright or sunny spells too. The best of the drier and brighter weather should be across the east, but there remains a risk of rain or perhaps thundery showers at times. Temperatures are likely to be close to or a little above average, particularly at first, so it will feel warm on the sunnier days, especially in the southeast.
