    Today:

    A wet, windy morning with some heavy rain and coastal gales. Turning drier and brighter during early afternoon and becoming less windy. Cornwall and west Devon remaining rather cloudy with occasional rain before further outbreaks of rain move eastwards later. Maximum Temperature 12C.

    Tonight:

    Remaining breezy overnight for all. Mainly dry with clear spells in the east, however, cloud in the west will gradually spread eastwards. Outbreaks of rain also moving eastwards, but easing. Minimum Temperature 4C.

    Monday:

    Breezy and cloudy with some light rain at first. Wind increasing into the afternoon with coastal gales and outbreaks of rain, heavy at times, spreading east to all parts. Maximum Temperature 14C.

    Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

    Early rain clearing to blustery showers with sunny intervals on Tuesday. Brighter with fewer showers on Wednesday, and becoming less windy. Turning wet and windy on Thursday.

    Windy, with gales and locally heavy rain in the south clearing eastwards across England, though showery conditions following with some thunder possible later. Brighter, showery conditions in the north, turning increasingly wintry across Scotland with snow likely over hills.

    Tonight:

    Generally windy, cold with clear spells for many. Showers continuing in the north, wintry across Scotland, possibly even to low levels. Cloudier, milder with outbreaks of rain in the southwest.

    Monday:

    Windy with local gales. A cold, bright start with rain then arriving from the west during the afternoon, locally heavy. Becoming drier later with blustery showers in the far north.

    Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

    Very windy with sunshine and showers, most frequent, wintry, locally thundery with widespread gales in the northwest Tuesday. Winds and showers easing through Wednesday. Cloudier with outbreaks of rain Thursday.

    Outlook for the UK over the next 6-30 days

    UK Outlook for Thursday 2 Apr 2015 to Saturday 11 Apr 2015:

    Cool and showery weather will continue affecting some northern parts on Thursday, whilst further south it will turn cloudier with some rain crossing eastwards, and eventually clearing away southeast during Friday. Into the Easter weekend, it is most likely that we'll see less windy conditions with more fine and dry weather around, though it is likely to feel cool at times with some showers possible for all. Thereafter changeable conditions are expected, most often across the north, whilst high pressure close to the south of the UK, perhaps occasionally amplifying northwards across the UK, is likely to bring some more prolonged drier and brighter conditions across the south west in particular. Temperatures will generally be near average, occasionally just above in sunnier spells, though with localised overnight frost also possible.

    UK Outlook for Sunday 12 Apr 2015 to Sunday 26 Apr 2015:

    The changeable period is expected to continue, with unsettled conditions interspersed with some spells of fine weather. With a westerly weather type most likely showery outbreaks or longer spells of rain are likely to affect parts of the UK throughout the period. These unsettled conditions will be most frequent across the northwest, although extending further south and east at times. There will also be some drier, brighter and settled periods, these most prolonged the south and east, and perhaps also later in the period. Temperatures are expected to remain close to the average for the middle of April. However they will vary from day to day, and there are likely to be some cold nights, especially in the north where localised frosts remain possible.
