Outlook for the UK over the next 6-30 days

UK Outlook for Thursday 30 Apr 2015 to Saturday 9 May 2015:

The end of April and the start of May is likely to be cold, windy and showery. A period of continuous rain and strong winds is expected for a time across eastern parts with snow on high ground in the north. A brief ridge of high pressure is likely to give a dry and bright start to the Bank Holiday Weekend, but it is expected to turn unsettled again from the Southwest later, with bands of rain or showers moving north-eastwards. The rest of the period is expected to remain unsettled, with the wettest and windiest conditions being in the north and west, and the best of the drier and brighter spells in the southeast. Temperatures through the period are likely to be below average.

UK Outlook for Sunday 10 May 2015 to Sunday 24 May 2015:

Changeable and at times unsettled conditions are more likely to persist for the first half of May, though it may turn drier mid-month. Central and western areas are likely to see the most of any rainfall, while southern and eastern districts and the far north have the best of any drier weather. However, there are no strong signals, with weather conditions likely to be fairly typical for the time of year with spells of fine and bright weather interspersed with more changeable conditions. Daytime temperatures likely to be above average when conditions are fine and near or a little below during unsettled spells. As is common for the time of year, spells of settled weather are likely to be accompanied by chilly evenings with isolated overnight frost in rural areas.
