    Becoming increasingly drier and brighter.

    Tonight:

It will remain dry and there will be some prolonged clear periods, which will make it become quite chilly in rural locations. Isolated mist and fog patches could also develop. Minimum Temperature 3C.

    Thursday:

There will be some bright or sunny spells in the morning. However it will become rather cloudy in the afternoon, which may give the odd spot of rain. Maximum Temperature 19C.

    Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Often rather cloudy, with the odd spot of rain possible, but daytime temperatures generally warmer than average. Best of the brightness most likely during the afternoons.

UK forecast for the next 5 days

Some sunshine across southern parts in the morning, but cloudier conditions in the north gradually spreading southwards. Windy with patchy rain in the north and west.

    Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Friday, weakening band of rain pushing southeastwards into central parts, with fresher conditions and isolated showers following. Otherwise generally dry and often cloudy. Daytime temperatures rather warm in the south.

Outlook for the UK over the next 6-30 days

UK Outlook for Sunday 28 Sep 2014 to Tuesday 7 Oct 2014:

Much of the UK should be largely dry through the beginning of the week. It will often be rather cloudy, although there may still be some sunny spells and isolated fog patches overnight. There should be rain at times in the north/northwest and it will become breezier here, with gales possible in the far north. Temperatures will be mostly near normal or rather warm by day, but widely well above average at night. Through the rest of the period it should continue generally dry with sunny spells, but more unsettled in the west and northwest with some rain and strong winds. Daytime temperatures are likely to remain near normal or rather warm, but nights should turn cooler with an increasing chance of ground frost, and some mist or fog patches.

UK Outlook for Tuesday 7 Oct 2014 to Tuesday 21 Oct 2014:

The broadly northwest-southeast split in the weather conditions is showing signs of persisting into mid-October. This pattern would leave southern, central and eastern parts tending to see the best of the weather with conditions often fine and dry. Occasional bouts of rain should still be expected, and mist and fog patches may be a problem during morning rush hours. Under the fine weather it should still feel pleasant with temperatures a little above average for the time of year. Further northwest, conditions are likely to be more unsettled with more frequent outbreaks of rain, these perhaps accompanied by strong winds. Temperatures here should be closer to average or perhaps even just below at times.
