Outlook for the UK over the next 6-30 days

UK Outlook for Thursday 29 Sep 2016 to Saturday 8 Oct 2016:

Windy on Thursday, particularly in the north with gales or severe gales possible here. Persistent rain in the north at first turning more showery. Brighter further south with winds easing. Lighter winds initially on Friday although with rain and stronger winds arriving from the west later. This unsettled pattern is then expected to continue through the remainder of the period, with spells of rain mixed with brighter, drier but occasional showery interludes. The northwest should see the most of the wet weather, with a risk of gales at times. Drier in southeastern parts, but some rain and breezy conditions are still possible. Temperatures should be around average through the rest of September, but perhaps a little below average at times from the start of October, with some overnight frosts.

UK Outlook for Sunday 9 Oct 2016 to Sunday 23 Oct 2016:

Low confidence for the weather details for October. Currently, it is most likely that the unsettled weather will continue. Rain and strong winds possible at times for much of the country, especially in the north, intermixed with quieter, drier spells, these mainly in the south. Temperatures around, or slightly below average, with an increasing chance of some chilly nights and local frosts, especially in the north.
