UK forecast for the next 5 days

Rain in the south. Sunshine and showers elsewhere.

    Today:

It will be a bright start, rain clearing the far southeast. However, rain will soon reach Cornwall, spreading across the rest of southern Britain during the afternoon, some heavy. Elsewhere, a mixture of sunshine and showers, heavy in the north.

    Tonight:

Heavy rain and strong winds will clear all but the far southeast. Further heavy showers affecting the northwest overnight and the southwest later, with some drier and clearer spells elsewhere.

    Sunday:

Cloud and rain will soon clear the far southeast. It will then be a day of sunshine and showers, these heavy and possibly thundery in places, away from the southeast.

    Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Sunshine and showers Monday and Tuesday, heaviest and most frequent in the north and west, drier elsewhere. Mostly dry on Wednesday, before turning wet and windy from the southwest later.

Outlook for the UK over the next 6-30 days

UK Outlook for Thursday 3 Aug 2017 to Saturday 12 Aug 2017:

It will be rather cloudy through Thursday and Friday with rain for some, followed by a scattering of heavy, slow-moving and perhaps thundery showers. Windy on Thursday too, but thereafter it is likely to remain unsettled across the UK, with a mixture of sunshine and showers, these heaviest and most frequent in the northwest with the risk of thunder. It will remain breezy for most but more in the way of sunshine may develop from the west later. Temperatures will stay close to normal for early August, but it will feel cooler in showers and stronger winds. A shift to more settled conditions is possible late in the period, but confidence at this point remains low.

UK Outlook for Sunday 13 Aug 2017 to Sunday 27 Aug 2017:

As we head through second week of August, there are signs that we will see drier and more settled weather with high pressure becoming more widely established across the UK. This will bring a break from the previously unsettled weather with longer spells of drier and brighter weather. However, there is still the chance that spells of rain or showers will affect the north at times. With more sunshine, temperatures should become a little warmer than normal for some, but with a west or northwesterly wind we could see some cooler nights. Later in August, confidence reduces significantly, perhaps with a return to more unsettled conditions in the north and west. The south may hold on to drier and brighter weather, but even here there is the risk of showers.
