    Another cold day is expected. Patchy light rain during the morning will clear slowly eastwards with some late afternoon bright spells possible. Cold, brisk or strong north-easterly winds. Maximum Temperature 6°C.

    Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

    Scattered wintry showers, occasionally bright on Monday. Very cold winds with a sharp frost overnight. Mainly dry and bright on Tuesday and Wednesday with frost Tuesday night. Rain later Wednesday.

    Today:

    Cloudy and rather windy in the south with outbreaks of rain turning to sleet or snow over high ground. In northern Scotland and northeastern England; rain, sleet and snow will slowly move southwards. Dry with sunny spells elsewhere.

    Tonight:

    Rain will continue in the south, turning wintry at times and wintry outbreaks will continue to affect northeastern England and northern Scotland. Elsewhere, clear spells will allow frost to form.

    Sunday:

    Rain in the south will slowly clear, leaving many places dry with sunny spells. However, wintry showers will continue along east and northeastern coasts, pushing inland at times. Feeling cold.

    Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

    Wintry showers fading on Monday leaving some sunshine. Feeling cold with overnight frosts. Rain, wintry at times, will move southeastwards on Tuesday evening and through Wednesday with strengthening winds.

    UK Outlook for Thursday 18 Feb 2016 to Saturday 27 Feb 2016:

    On Thursday, a band of rain, and perhaps sleet and snow, will probably affect southeast England at first, but is likely to weaken and clear eastwards through the day. Elsewhere, after a frosty start, there will be plenty of sunshine, and some scattered wintry showers in the west. Thicker cloud, stronger winds and outbreaks of rain are then likely to spread in from the northwest through Friday, with snow possible in parts of the north, clearing to blustery showers later. Thereafter, the weather looks set to remain rather changeable. There will be some milder, wet and windy weather at times, with a risk of gales, perhaps severe in the north. However there will also be some clearer and frosty periods in-between weather systems.

    UK Outlook for Sunday 28 Feb 2016 to Sunday 13 Mar 2016:

    A continuation of the rather changeable weather looks the most likely trend at this stage, with winds predominantly blowing from the northwest. This means the wettest and windiest conditions will probably affect northern and western areas, with a greater likelihood of settled periods of weather in the south and east. There is a chance that a period of more widespread cold and settled conditions could develop around the turn of the month, however confidence in this is low. Temperatures probably averaging out near or just below normal. Some frosty nights are likely, but there could well be large day-to-day variations as weather systems come and go.
