    Mainly dry with sunny spells but isolated heavy showers possible, especially on Sunday. Feeling warm and humid but cooler near the coast. Becoming breezier on Sunday.

    Cloudier and cooler today, with rain in central parts.

    Today:

    Today will generally be cloudier and cooler than yesterday. Western areas will hang on to the sunshine the longest, before turning cloudier. Rain, heavy in places, will begin to spread across east and north England.

    Tonight:

    A milder night than of late, with extensive cloud cover apart from the far south. Rain will continue across some central and northern parts, but will turn lighter and patchier.

    Thursday:

    Cloud and further rain across the central swathe of Britain will be lighter and patchier than on Wednesday. Best of the sunshine in the far north and south.

    Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

    Rain across northern England on Friday gradually easing. Many places then dry with sunny spells but some heavy showers developing in southern areas. Becoming warmer generally.

    Outlook for the UK over the next 6-30 days

    UK Outlook for Sunday 29 May 2016 to Tuesday 7 Jun 2016:

    Much of the United Kingdom, especially the northwest, will see dry, bright and reasonably warm weather over the Bank Holiday weekend. However some parts of both Wales and the southern half of England will have scattered heavy showers in between bright or sunny spells, with hail and thunder likely. There is also a chance that more widespread rain and strong winds will move in from the continent to affect southern and eastern areas later on. Then next week it will start unsettled across central, southern and eastern parts with showers or longer spells of rain, again probably heavy and thundery in places. However as the week goes on it looks likely that more settled conditions will encroach from the west and north and become established through into the following week.

    UK Outlook for Wednesday 8 Jun 2016 to Wednesday 22 Jun 2016:

    Currently it looks likely that generally settled conditions will continue through the first half of June. Thus we can expect a good deal of dry and bright weather for most, particularly in the northwest, but with a few wetter intervals mixed in, these potentially thundery. The temperature will most likely be a bit warmer than the June average on the whole, especially in the west and south. Then as we head towards the latter part of June there are currently no strong signals for any weather out of the ordinary, although there remains a small chance of more unsettled conditions becoming established.
