    Forecast Summary

    • Regional
    • UK 5 days
    • UK 6-30 days

    Regional forecast for West Midlands

Largely dry tomorrow with variable cloud amounts and sunny spells.

    This Evening and Tonight:

Any residual rain in the south will soon clear this evening to leave a dry night. Clear skies coupled with light winds will allow it to turn fairly chilly in sheltered rural areas with isolated fog patches possible. Minimum Temperature 5C.

    Saturday:

After a chilly start in places, it will be a predominantly dry, bright and breezy day with occasional sunny spells. However, the odd isolated fleeting shower cannot be ruled out. Maximum Temperature 15C.

    Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Breezy and mild with occasional sunny breaks, but often rather cloudy on Sunday and Monday. Rain will arrive from the northwest later on Tuesday, but with winds falling lighter.

Issued at: 1700 on Fri 24 Oct 2014

UK forecast for the next 5 days

Rain clearing the southeast. Windy and showery in the northwest.

    This Evening and Tonight:

Rain will slowly clear southeastern England this evening. A dry night will follow, bar the odd coastal shower, with clear spells allowing the odd fog patch to form. Windy in the northwest with coastal gales and frequent showers.

    Saturday:

Frequent showers and strong winds will continue across western Scotland with severe gales affecting coastal areas. Less windy and showery elsewhere, with the best of the sunshine across eastern areas.

    Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Very wet and windy in the northwest Sunday and Monday. Rain pushes southeastwards on Tuesday with cooler, brighter conditions following. Drier and mild further south, but with isolated drizzly outbreaks.

Issued at: 1700 on Fri 24 Oct 2014

Outlook for the UK over the next 6-30 days

UK Outlook for Wednesday 29 Oct 2014 to Friday 7 Nov 2014:

A slow moving band of rain over the central parts on Wednesday is expected to slowly weaken. To the north, largely fine with sunny spells after a chilly start. Dull, damp and mild to the south with occasional drizzle. Brighter across southern parts on Thursday with sunny spells. However, rain and strong winds are likely to extend into northwestern areas, before reaching central parts by the end of the day. A north-south split looks most likely to predominate thereafter with the most frequent bouts of wind and rain likely in the north and northwest, with the best of the drier weather in the south and southeast; although there is likely to be some rain here at times. Temperatures generally near normal, although feeling cold in strong winds and rain.

UK Outlook for Saturday 8 Nov 2014 to Saturday 22 Nov 2014:

The main signal is for a continuation of a north-south split during the second week of November. During this period, the generally westerly flow is likely to bring spells of wet and windy weather, mostly affecting northern and some western areas, but perhaps reaching other areas as well, this interspersed with drier intervals. However, southern and some eastern areas will probably see more in the way of drier and settled conditions increasing the likelihood of some sunshine, but also the risk of frost, mist and fog overnight, the latter of which could be slow to clear. After this it looks like unsettled weather will spread to much of the UK. Daytime temperatures will probably be near or a little above normal, although feeling cooler during any wet and windy spells.
