UK forecast for the next 5 days

Largely fine with sunny spells, but showers affecting northern parts.

Once the cloud and patchy rain clears the southeast, England and Wales will have a fine day with sunny periods, although isolated showers will affect the north. Breezy and cooler across Northern Ireland and Scotland with sunny spells and showers.

Showers in the north will become confined to northern and western Scotland overnight leaving much of the country dry with clear spells. It will turn fairly cool in rural areas.

After a bright start, rain will gradually push northeastwards across England and Wales with strong winds developing across southwestern coasts. Elsewhere, heavy showers will become more frequent through the day.

    Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Unsettled and generally fairly cool through the period with showers or longer spells of rain, interspersed by drier and brighter interludes. It will often be windy, especially across southwestern coasts.

Outlook for the UK over the next 6-30 days

UK Outlook for Friday 1 Jul 2016 to Sunday 10 Jul 2016:

The changeable and often unsettled weather is likely to continue across most parts through this period. Bands of rain are expected to push eastwards across the country, these interspersed with drier and brighter periods, but also some showers, perhaps some heavy ones at times. The wettest weather is always more likely in the north and west where it will occasionally be windy too, whilst the south and east will see the best of any drier spells along with generally lighter winds. Temperatures on the whole are expected to be near, or somewhat below average for the time of year, but feeling cool more generally in the northwest in any wetter and winder spells. Conversely, it will feel warm in any drier and sunnier periods, especially in the south and east.

UK Outlook for Monday 11 Jul 2016 to Monday 25 Jul 2016:

Further changeable conditions are likely to persist at first with rain or showers across many areas, particularly the north and west, and temperatures near average. Around the middle of July there is a possibility of a more settled spell of weather to develop, potentially bringing longer dry periods to much of the country. With this change there would most likely be more in the way of sunshine with some locally warm temperatures and lighter winds. However there is also the possibility of more humid continental air moving up across the southeast at times, bringing a risk of some thundery showers here.
