    Regional forecast for West Midlands

Rain clearing to sunny spells and scattered showers. Feeling cool.

    Today:

It will be a cloudy and wet start with a band of rain, heavy at times, crossing the area. This may well be accompanied by gusty winds before clearing eastern parts around midday. Sunny spells and scattered showers will follow. Maximum Temperature 14C.

    Tonight:

The scattered showers will become confined to northwestern parts through the course of the night. Turning chilly under the clear spells with a local grass frost in sheltered rural locations. Minimum Temperature 2C.

    Saturday:

A fine day with good spells of sunshine and feeling warmer than Friday with lighter winds. However, the cloud will thicken from the southwest later with rain arriving by midnight. Maximum Temperature 16C.

    Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Cool and unsettled with spells of rain or showers, these occasionally heavy, and only brief brighter interludes. There will also be strong winds at times.

UK forecast for the next 5 days

Rain and gusty winds crossing southern parts. Showers further north.

    Today:

Outbreaks of occasionally heavy rain with gusty winds will push eastwards across southern Britain before clearing around mid-afternoon. Brighter conditions, with some showers, will follow. Northern parts will see sunny spells and heavy showers. Feeling cool in the brisk winds.

    Tonight:

Showers will gradually become confined to the far north and northwestern coastal areas later. Clear spells will allow temperatures to fall low enough for a local rural grass frost.

    Saturday:

Drier and brighter for many with good spells of sunshine. However, showers will affect northeastern Britain and patchy drizzly rain will arrive across southwestern parts and will turn heavier later.

    Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

An unsettled, and perhaps at times unseasonably windy, period of weather with belts of heavy rain and showers affecting the country. It will feel chilly with below average temperatures.

Outlook for the UK over the next 6-30 days

UK Outlook for Tuesday 2 Jun 2015 to Thursday 11 Jun 2015:

Rather unsettled and cool conditions across most areas at first, with heavy showers or bands of more persistent rain. Strong winds are also likely, particularly in the south and the northwest. After this, further spells of rain and at times strong winds are expected to affect northern and north-western parts, whilst across the south of the UK conditions become mainly fine and dry. Later in the period, all parts of the UK are set to see some dry weather with periods of sunshine. Temperatures are also likely to recover to become rather warm in the south, with the north also rising to around normal for the time of year. Towards the end of this period, very warm weather may develop in south, albeit accompanied by the threat of heavy showers.

UK Outlook for Friday 12 Jun 2015 to Friday 26 Jun 2015:

High pressure looks to have become established across the north of the UK by the start of this period. This will bring fine and dry conditions to most parts with much warmer conditions than of late across the north. It is also expected to be very warm in the south, although here there is a risk of some heavy and thundery showers spreading up from continental Europe. Confidence in the forecast drops towards the end of June; however, the general trend looks set to remain much the same, meaning drier conditions in the north, some showers possible in the south and warm or very warm temperatures.
