    Turning chilly with winds gradually easing throughout the night. It will remain rather cloudy with further outbreaks of rain, mainly over western hills. Minimum Temperature 3°C.

    Monday:

    A colder day on Monday with scattered showers, wintry over the hills, and some brighter spells. Light winds in the morning, but becoming stronger later. Maximum Temperature 8°C.

    Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

    On Tuesday strong winds and showers gradually easing. Light winds, dry with sunny spells for many on Wednesday after a locally frosty start. Further wet and windy weather for Thursday.

    Very unsettled with spells of wet and very windy weather.

    Today:

    Wet and windy with hill snow and local gales across parts of Scotland, but easing and turning showery later. Elsewhere, sunny spells and showers, these mostly in the west. More persistent rain arrives in the west/southwest later with gales developing.

    Tonight:

    Rain in the west and southwest moves quickly north-eastwards, clearing most parts by midnight. Blustery, locally heavy, showers will follow. There will be gales in the southwest, increasing severe later.

    Monday:

    Sunny spells and showers, most frequent in the west and turning wintry in the north. Severe gales in southern areas from Storm Imogen, but these will ease through the day.

    Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

    During Tuesday the strong winds and showers will gradually ease. Light winds with prolonged dry, sunny spells for many on Wednesday. Further wet and windy weather for Thursday. Chilly nights.

    UK Outlook for Friday 12 Feb 2016 to Sunday 21 Feb 2016:

    Unsettled weather will continue across all parts of the country initially with further spells of cloud and rain interspersed by colder, brighter, showery conditions. Precipitation will occasionally fall as snow in northern and central areas, this mainly on hills, but perhaps also to lower levels at times. It will often be windy with gales or severe gales in places, perhaps most frequently across exposed southern parts. Temperatures are expected to be near average in the south, but slightly below normal in the north where there will be some overnight frosts. It will turn drier briefly before unsettled weather quickly returns to all parts, the wettest and windiest weather this time across the north. More in the way of drier, settled weather may develop later in the week across southern areas.

    UK Outlook for Monday 22 Feb 2016 to Monday 7 Mar 2016:

    Indications are that the latter half of February will be dominated by changeable weather coming in from the Atlantic. This will bring showers or longer spells of rain to most parts, wettest in northern areas, while southern parts may benefit from some longer dry spells. Snow is likely at times, mainly over northern hills. Temperatures should generally be near normal for the time of year, however occasional frosty nights are possible at where skies become clear. Generally windy with gales or even severe gales at times, mainly in northern and western parts. By late February there is a possibility of more settled weather becoming established, mainly across southern areas, bringing drier and less windy conditions here, however, wet and windy weather will most likely persistent in the north and west.
