    Cloud will thin this morning to leave a bright day with some decent spells of sunshine, especially in the west where some places could stay dry. Fewer showers than Tuesday but an isolated heavy one is possible this afternoon. Maximum Temperature 10 °C.

    Tonight:

    Showers dying out this evening with skies clearing allowing a frost to form in places before cloud thickens after midnight heralding a band of rain into the north by dawn. Minimum Temperature -1 °C.

    Thursday:

    Cloudy with further mainly light showers or longer periods of rain. Brightening up from the north later with most parts becoming dry during the evening. Maximum Temperature 11 °C.

    Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

    Sunshine and showers Friday, then largely dry Saturday. Turning less cold and feeling quite pleasant in any sunshine, though still chilly overnight. Windy on Sunday, perhaps with some heavy showers.

    Remaining chilly through Wednesday with sunny spells and showers.

    Today:

    Sunshine and showers for most, with showers most frequent in the east, where they could be wintry and thundery in nature. Fewer showers in the west but with some rain across the far north. Remaining chilly, although with winds easing.

    Tonight:

    Daytime showers will tend to die out overnight with a frost developing in the south. Less cold elsewhere with cloud and patchy rain in the north gradually moving southeastwards.

    Thursday:

    Sunny start in the far south before cloud and patchy rain moves across all areas, turning more showery later. Becoming brighter and mostly dry across some northern areas. Generally milder.

    Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

    Largely dry at first with some sunshine, feeling less cold. Through the weekend, winds will strengthen for all, with an increasing threat of rain or showers, especially towards the south.

    Outlook for the UK over the next 6-30 days

    UK Outlook for Monday 1 May 2017 to Wednesday 10 May 2017:

    Bank Holiday Monday currently looks likely to be rather unsettled in the south, with some showery outbreaks of rain moving across the UK. However there will be brighter spells in-between, and in the brightness it should feel fairly pleasant, most likely in the north. There may well also be some showers on Tuesday, and to a much lesser extent on Wednesday, but on the whole Wednesday is likely to be dry with some sunshine for many. Temperatures early next week are expected to be around average for early May. Then from Thursday onwards we are likely to see high pressure dominate, with largely dry and settled weather prevailing, with increasing amounts of sunshine. The settled weather is also likely to bring temperatures slightly above average, especially during the sunnier interludes.

    UK Outlook for Thursday 11 May 2017 to Thursday 25 May 2017:

    Heading into the middle of May, and on balance the dry and settled weather is likely to continue to dominate. There may however be some occasional wetter interludes, with western areas more likely to see these. Temperatures are likely to remain above average, and possibly becoming very warm at times at first, before perhaps returning to nearer normal towards the end of the period.
