    Mostly dry and breezy on Tuesday with bright or sunny spells, although the odd shower can't be ruled out, especially in the north of the region. Maximum Temperature 12C.

    Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

    Rain Wednesday morning, followed by sunny intervals and scattered showers in the afternoon. Bright or sunny spells and scattered heavy showers on Thursday, Dry on Friday with some sunny spells.

    Showers continuing for many northern and western parts, these turning to sleet and snow over hills. Drier further south, and cold across the UK with a local frost developing.

    Tuesday:

    A bright, breezy day with showers, mainly across northern and western parts, but also some lengthy sunny spells. Showers may be heavy at times and wintry over northern hills.

    Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

    Strong winds and rain for most on Wednesday, clearing eastwards to sunshine and showers by Thursday. Drier for many on Friday. Staying rather cool, with some hill snow in north.

    Outlook for the UK over the next 6-30 days

    UK Outlook for Saturday 2 May 2015 to Monday 11 May 2015:

    Northern and eastern parts of the UK should remain mainly dry with some sunny spells, though a few showers are possible on Saturday, these perhaps turning wintry over higher ground in Scotland. It will turn increasingly cloudy in the south and west from Saturday onwards with outbreaks of rain at times. These will probably move northeastwards to affect all parts by Bank Holiday Monday. The rest of the period is expected to remain unsettled, with the wettest conditions in the north and west, and the best of the drier and brighter spells in the south. It is expected to be windy at times with a risk of gales in places. Temperatures throughout the period are likely to be below average with local night frosts, especially in the northeast.

    UK Outlook for Tuesday 12 May 2015 to Tuesday 26 May 2015:

    Changeable and often unsettled conditions are most likely to persist for much of this period, though it may turn more settled for a time from around mid-May onwards. Conditions will be fairly typical for the time of year, with most areas experiencing spells of fine and bright weather interspersed with more changeable conditions. The most unsettled conditions are likely to be across central and northern areas, with the best of the settled weather more likely in the in the south and southeast. Daytime temperatures are likely to be near or a little below average, throughout. Spells of more settled weather are likely to be accompanied by chilly evenings with isolated overnight frost in rural areas.
