    Regional forecast for East Midlands

Becoming brighter and staying dry for most.

    Today:

Any patchy rain soon clearing Lincolnshire. The rest of the day should then be dry for all parts with the cloud tending to break to allow some sunshine. Winds light for most. Maximum Temperature 21 °C.

    Tonight:

It should remain fine through the evening and overnight with clear periods. The breeze will begin to freshen late in the night as cloud thickens in the west. Minimum Temperature 12 °C.

    Wednesday:

Thickening cloud and outbreaks of rain will spread to all parts through the morning. The rain will be heavy for a time before clearing to the east later. Breezy. Maximum Temperature 21 °C.

    Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Windy with sunshine and scattered showers on Thursday and Friday, some heavy. Feeling rather cool at times. A longer spell of rain is likely on Saturday but probably less windy.

UK forecast for the next 5 days

Fine and warm for many today, before rain arrives tonight.

    Today:

A cloudy start in the east with the odd spot of drizzle, but brightening up here through the morning. Otherwise a generally fine day elsewhere with warm sunny spells, although isolated showers in northeast Scotland and perhaps the southwest.

    Tonight:

Any showers will ease through the evening to give a dry start to the night. However, rain and strengthening winds will arrive in the west through the early hours.

    Wednesday:

Strong winds and heavy rain will spread across all parts. Turning drier in the west with sunny spells and scattered showers across Northern Ireland and western Scotland later. Cooler.

    Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Unsettled, windy and fresher with sunshine and blustery showers throughout this period, these heaviest in the northwest. Perhaps a spell of rain through Friday night into Saturday.

Outlook for the UK over the next 6-30 days

UK Outlook for Sunday 30 Jul 2017 to Tuesday 8 Aug 2017:

A generally unsettled spell of weather is expected on Sunday and Monday with a mixture of sunshine and showers for most, and possibly a spell of more prolonged rain in the southeast. Heavy showers and strong winds are most likely in the north west with a risk of hail and thunder, however winds are likely to be lighter elsewhere. The unsettled regime looks set to continue until early August with further frontal systems affecting the UK, interspersed with clearer or perhaps showery weather and some unseasonably windy conditions across many areas. Temperatures should be around normal to cool, with perhaps only the far south east seeing some warmer conditions at times. There are no signals for any significant change from these unsettled conditions during the period.

UK Outlook for Wednesday 9 Aug 2017 to Wednesday 23 Aug 2017:

Changeable or unsettled conditions are likely at first with periods of rain interspersed with clearer or showery weather. There are some signals for high pressure to build which would allow for more settled conditions and rising temperatures, mostly likely in the south. By the middle of August signals become mixed and confidence is low. However, the preferred solution is for northwestern parts to stay largely changeable, with drier and brighter spells of weather becoming more prevalent in the southeast. That being said, all areas could see showers or longer spells of rain at times.
