Outlook for the UK over the next 6-30 days

UK Outlook for Wednesday 29 Apr 2015 to Friday 8 May 2015:

It looks likely to be unsettled and rather cold as we move from April into May, becoming winder than of late. There will be a period of wet, windy and cold weather early in the period. Otherwise sunny spells and some showers are expected, these are likley to turn heavy at times with a risk of hail and thunder, and also snow on northern hills. Although drier interludes are likely towards the end of the period, the changeable conditions are likely to continue, but it will probably become less cold, with rain likely becoming focussed towards western and central parts, with the best chance of some drier and brighter conditions in the south and east.

UK Outlook for Saturday 9 May 2015 to Saturday 23 May 2015:

Changeable and at times unsettled conditions are more likely to persist for the first half of May, though it may turn drier mid-month. Central and western areas are likely to see the most of any rainfall, while southern and eastern districts and the far north have the best of any drier weather. However, there are no strong signals, with weather conditions likely to be fairly typical for the time of year with spells of fine and bright weather interspersed with more changeable conditions. Daytime temperatures likely to be above average when conditions are fine and near or a little below during unsettled spells. As is common for the time of year, spells of settled weather are likely to be accompanied by chilly evenings with isolated overnight frost in rural areas.
