Outlook for the UK over the next 6-30 days

UK Outlook for Wednesday 2 Dec 2015 to Friday 11 Dec 2015:

Wednesday is expected be wet and windy, with weather systems moving in from the Atlantic. This should set the pattern for much of the period, with northern and western areas likely to see the strongest winds, which could reach gale force at times, accompanied by heavy rain. Sleet or hill snow is also possible in the far north. There is likely to be brief periods of drier, more settled weather, although lighter winds and clearer skies give the chance of overnight frosts. The stormy weather is expected to hold on in the north through into the second week of December, with further rain and strong, occasionally gale force winds. Temperatures will average out around normal, but will feel milder in wetter, windier weather and colder in calmer more settled periods.

UK Outlook for Saturday 12 Dec 2015 to Saturday 26 Dec 2015:

The wet and windy weather is expected to return to all parts at the start of the period, with the trend for stormier conditions likely to continue into late December. Showers or longer spells of rain should affect most parts as Atlantic weather systems move in from the west, these bringing periods of strong winds or gales. Temperatures are expected to be around average or slightly above, although night time frosts are likely in more settled periods.
