UK forecast for the next 5 days

Warmer in the south, cloudier and cooler further north.

    Today:

It'll be a grey start in central and northern areas with outbreaks of rain at times. There'll be sunnier skies in northwest Scotland and southern England and Wales, with showers in southern England this afternoon.

    Tonight:

Outbreaks of rain will continue across Northern Ireland and southern Scotland tonight. Elsewhere there'll be patchy cloud and some clear spells, perhaps with scattered showers in southern coastal areas.

    Friday:

Tomorrow will start largely fine and dry with some sunny spells through the day. Showers will feed into southern and western parts though, these turning heavy and perhaps thundery later.

    Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

Many places should be warm through the weekend with sunny spells. Locally heavy, thundery showers are likely, mainly in the south. Rain may spread to eastern areas on Monday.

Outlook for the UK over the next 6-30 days

UK Outlook for Monday 30 May 2016 to Wednesday 8 Jun 2016:

Much of the United Kingdom, especially the northwest, will see dry, bright and reasonably warm weather for the end of May. Southeastern areas, however, should be cloudier and cooler, and increasingly likely to see outbreaks of rain, which could turn heavy and thundery and perhaps more prolonged for a time, accompanied by strengthening winds. This pattern of weather looks to continue for the start of June, with showers or longer spells of rain most likely in the east and southeast, with the best of the warmer, drier and brighter weather in the west and northwest. However, there is a signal for the weather to become more generally drier and brighter across the UK towards the end of the period, although there remains a threat of showers in the south.

UK Outlook for Thursday 9 Jun 2016 to Thursday 23 Jun 2016:

Currently it looks likely that generally settled conditions will continue through the start of this period. This means we can expect a good deal of dry and bright weather for many parts of the country, particularly in the north and northwest. There will probably be some wetter intervals mixed in, these most likely in the south, where they could turn thundery at times. Towards mid-to-late June, there is a chance that more unsettled conditions could become established, although the timing and likelihood of this change remains uncertain. Temperatures, on the whole, will probably be slightly above the June average, especially in the west and south.
