    A cloudy start with outbreaks of rain, these mainly fairly light. The rain will gradually become confined to Argyll with a few bright intervals developing around Glasgow and down towards Lanark. Strong winds over Arran and Kintyre. Maximum Temperature 15C.

    Tonight:

    A heavier pulse of rain will move up across Islay and Argyll early in the night before becoming lighter and more patchy later with a few clear intervals developing. Minimum Temperature 10C.

    Friday:

    Mainly cloudy with some patchy light rain this mainly over the high ground of Argyll Towards the evening a heavier band of rain will move in from the west. Maximum Temperature 18C.

    Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

    Mainly dry with sunny intervals on Saturday but rain in the evening. A bright day with a few showers in Argyll on Sunday. Sunny spells and heavy showers on Monday.

    Rain clearing to the north, very mild for most.

    Today:

    Rain over Scotland and the north of England first thing will gradually clear northwards leaving most places rather cloudy and mild, with a few brighter spells. However, patchy rain will continue in some western parts through the day.

    Tonight:

    Remaining rather cloudy and very mild, the best of clear spells in the east. Patchy rain will continue in some western areas, perhaps turning heavy and persistent over northwest Scotland.

    Friday:

    Dry across much of the country with warm sunny spells, especially in the south and east. Winds strengthening in the west, with rain spreading into some western parts later.

    Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

    Rain and brisk winds in the northwest spreading southeastwards during the weekend, with cooler showery weather following through Sunday afternoon and continuing through Monday.

    UK Outlook for Tuesday 4 Nov 2014 to Thursday 13 Nov 2014:

    On Tuesday, a cool and showery north or northwesterly airstream will affect the UK, with showers most frequent in the northwest where they may fall as snow over hills. It will be windy at times too. Temperatures generally a little below average, and feeling cold in comparison to the recent very mild weather. Showers should gradually ease from around midweek with more in the way of brighter weather, and frost at night. Thereafter a return to more unsettled and windy weather from the west looks the most likely scenario, with spells of rain pushing northeastwards across the country interspersed by brighter, showery and colder days. Some particularly wet and windy weather is a possibility at times. Temperatures are likely to return to nearer normal for November.

    UK Outlook for Friday 14 Nov 2014 to Friday 28 Nov 2014:

    During this period, the generally west or southwesterly flow is likely to bring spells of wet and windy weather, especially to northern and western parts of the UK. However, southern and eastern areas may see some drier and settled conditions increasing the likelihood of some sunshine, but also the risk of frost, mist and fog overnight, the latter of which could be slow to clear. Spells of unsettled weather are still likely across the south and east though. Daytime temperatures may well be near normal, although it will feel colder during any wet and windy spells.
