    A mixture of sunshine and showers, some heavy, hail and thunder possible. Showers most frequent in Argyll. Breezy, with strong winds over Mull, Tiree at first. Maximum Temperature 15 °C.

    Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

    Showers easing Sunday night, but a spell of rain is probable on Monday, especially in south. Very unsettled towards midweek with rain at times, risk of severe gales.

    Windy in the north and west overnight. Rain across Scotland, Wales and western England will continue to spread eastwards, reaching eastern counties by dawn. Clear spells following for many with blustery showers moving in from the west.


    Rain clearing eastern England early afternoon. Otherwise, a mix of sunshine and showers turning heavy and perhaps thundery in the north and west. Cooler than Saturday, especially in the east.

    Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

    Strong winds and heavy rain at times through this period. Northern areas tending to see the most persistent rain and strongest winds with gales. Southern especially southeastern areas drier overall.

    UK Outlook for Thursday 29 Sep 2016 to Saturday 8 Oct 2016:

    Windy on Thursday, particularly in the north with gales or severe gales possible here. Persistent rain in the north at first turning more showery. Brighter further south with winds easing. Lighter winds initially on Friday although with rain and stronger winds arriving from the west later. This unsettled pattern is then expected to continue through the remainder of the period, with spells of rain mixed with brighter, drier but occasional showery interludes. The northwest should see the most of the wet weather, with a risk of gales at times. Drier in southeastern parts, but some rain and breezy conditions are still possible. Temperatures should be around average through the rest of September, but perhaps a little below average at times from the start of October, with some overnight frosts.
