Outlook for the UK over the next 6-30 days

UK Outlook for Saturday 25 Feb 2017 to Monday 6 Mar 2017:

Late February and early March look generally mild, changeable and at times unsettled, with Atlantic depressions pushing across the UK. This means spells of rain, some of which could be heavy across high ground in the north and west, and accompanied by windy conditions, perhaps with gales at times, again more likely in the north and west. Showers in between these Atlantic systems could be wintry over northern hills. Some wind and rain is likely for the south and east too, though with more prolonged spells of drier and brighter weather in-between. Throughout this period there remains a lower chance that high pressure centred to the southwest of the UK may become more dominant and this would mean rather more settled conditions establishing themselves, with some overnight frost.

UK Outlook for Tuesday 7 Mar 2017 to Tuesday 21 Mar 2017:

For March there is a fair amount of uncertainty, but the weather is most likely to be unsettled at first. There will be spells of wet and windy weather, interspersed with brighter and showery conditions with some snow possible across the north of the UK. There will, however, also be some drier and brighter spells, particularly in the south and east where we may see some local frost and fog at times overnight. Temperatures are expected to be a little above normal for the time of year but there remains a small chance of seeing a more prolonged cold spell, which is most probable later in the period, particularly if settled conditions develop more widely.
