UK forecast for the next 5 days

Staying mainly settled with some sunshine, but feeling cold.

    Today:

Although it'll be a sunny and frosty start for many today, some fog patches will linger through the morning. Skies will then cloud over for many, with showers in north-east England during the afternoon, perhaps turning wintry over hills.

    Tonight:

Mostly cloudy skies will persist overnight. However, where clear spells develop, some patchy frost and fog will form. Outbreaks of light rain will move across south-west England and the North.

    Sunday:

Early fog patches will clear through the morning, with otherwise dry and sunny conditions in the south. Skies will be cloudier further north, with some isolated outbreaks of light rain.

    Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Dry for most, but with some outbreaks of rain in the north-west. There'll be some bright sunny spells, but it'll feel cold with widespread frosts and some persistent fog patches.

Outlook for the UK over the next 6-30 days

UK Outlook for Thursday 26 Jan 2017 to Saturday 4 Feb 2017:

Thursday will stay dry and cold for most with sunshine in the east. It will become increasingly cloudy and windy in the north-west and heavy rain will reach Northern Ireland before the end of the day. The rain will spread into mainland UK overnight but the south-east will probably stay dry throughout Friday. This will mark a change to generally wet and windy weather over the weekend and next week. Bands of rain will cross the country, interspersed with brighter and showery interludes. It will be windy at times, with gales likely in the north-west. The heaviest rain is also likely across northern and western parts. Temperatures are likely to be mild for late January, however there is a chance that the south-east could stay drier and colder.

UK Outlook for Sunday 5 Feb 2017 to Sunday 19 Feb 2017:

At the start of this period the most likely scenario is for more unsettled weather with wet and windy spells interspersed with brighter and showery interludes. This would bring gales at times, especially in the north-west. Temperatures are likely to be slightly above normal for the time of year. South-eastern parts may well stay drier and brighter. From the second week of February, confidence in the forecast reduces but there is a possibility that high pressure will return, bringing more settled weather with lighter winds and a return of overnight frost and fog. As a result, temperatures may become colder at times although the chance of very cold weather developing is considered to be low.
