Outlook for the UK over the next 6-30 days

UK Outlook for Wednesday 4 Mar 2015 to Friday 13 Mar 2015:

After an unsettled start to the period with frequent wintry showers on Wednesday, it should become drier from the southwest through Thursday. It will be windy and cold with overnight frosts. Pressure is then likely to build bringing a spell of dry weather through the following weekend, and possibly into the next working week. Most parts should be fine and dry, but cold with the potential for very cold nights. Later in the period it will probably become more unsettled in the far north/northwest with rain or showers. Meanwhile further south the signal is for a drier than average period, but still some patchy rain, and perhaps a little snow. It should turn gradually warmer; maximum temperatures may rise above average by the end of the period.

UK Outlook for Saturday 14 Mar 2015 to Saturday 28 Mar 2015:

For the second half of March the most probable scenario is for higher than average pressure over and to the south of the UK. This would bring generally more settled conditions with many places dry and often sunny. It will be cloudy at times, with some occasional rain or showers. However, the chance of any prolonged wet and windy weather is fairly small. Temperatures are more uncertain, and although they are most likely to be close to average there is still the possibility of some cold nights. This means there is the risk of overnight frosts, and also some mist or fog, though this should be quick to clear during the daytime.
