    Sharp showers through the evening will ease for a time, leaving clear spells. Cloud and rain will quickly arrive from the west overnight, with the rain locally heavy, perhaps giving some snow over the Pennines and accompanied by blustery winds. Minimum Temperature 4C.


    It should be dry by morning, with bright conditions and sunny spells. Showers are likely to develop, perhaps heavy by afternoon and continuing overnight. Chilly in fresh westerly winds. Maximum Temperature 11C.

    Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

    Sunshine and showers Thursday, some heavy, slow moving with hail and thunder. Friday sunny spells, and perhaps some sharp showers. Cloudy Saturday with isolated and lighter showers. Generally rather cold.

    Rain spreads eastwards overnight.

    This Evening and Tonight:

    A band of rain moving into Northern Ireland this evening will spread eastwards overnight, turning heavy at times, reaching central and southern England and northern Scotland by dawn. Mostly dry ahead of the rain, some showers following on behind.


    Rain will slowly clear southeastern parts. Elsewhere, many places will be dry with sunny spells, although some showers will affect the north of the UK. Some hill snow across Scotland.

    Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

    Sunny spells and scattered thundery showers on Thursday. Mostly dry and bright on Friday, although with some showers in the far southwest and north. Windier Saturday with rain edging northwards.

    UK Outlook for Sunday 3 May 2015 to Tuesday 12 May 2015:

    Cloudy across most parts of the UK on Sunday with outbreaks of rain, although the north of Scotland may stay dry with some sunshine. Many areas will stay cloudy with some rain on Bank Holiday Monday, although the far north of Scotland may well remain fine and dry. Drier and brighter conditions, accompanied by a few showers, are likely to spread to southwestern parts later. From Tuesday onwards it is expected to remain unsettled with showers or longer spells of rain, with the west and southwest likely to experience the wettest conditions. It is expected to be windy at times with a risk of gales in places and temperatures throughout the period are likely to be below average with local night frosts, especially in the northeast.

    UK Outlook for Wednesday 13 May 2015 to Wednesday 27 May 2015:

    Changeable and often unsettled conditions are most likely to persist for much of this period, though some areas may have some more settled weather for a time at first. Otherwise, conditions will be fairly typical for the time of year, with most areas experiencing spells of fine and bright weather interspersed with more changeable conditions. The most unsettled conditions are likely to be across central and northern areas, with the best of the settled weather more likely in the in the south and southeast. Daytime temperatures are likely to be near or a little below average, throughout. Spells of more settled weather are likely to be accompanied by chilly evenings with isolated overnight frost in rural areas.
