Outlook for the UK over the next 6-30 days

UK Outlook for Thursday 27 Apr 2017 to Saturday 6 May 2017:

Thursday will stay rather cold with a mix of sunshine and showers across the UK with the most frequent showers likely across eastern parts and along windward coasts. Some of the showers will be heavy and wintry, with hail and thunder likely at times. We will see widespread, perhaps sharp, overnight frosts at first, but temperatures look set to slowly rise through the end of next week. By Friday and into next weekend, more unsettled conditions are likely generally, especially in the northwest, with the best of any drier and brighter spells in the south-east. By the first week of May, western areas may continue rather unsettled whereas eastern parts should be drier, brighter and warmer.

UK Outlook for Sunday 7 May 2017 to Sunday 21 May 2017:

High pressure appears more likely to be dominant through the majority of the period, meaning that below average rainfall is most probable during this time. However, low pressure may bring the possibility of less settled conditions at times, especially across western areas. During the first half of the month, temperatures are likely to be average or slightly above average. This will mean that we should lose the risk of frosts, and it will feel warm at times. Towards the end of the period, there is a greater chance of it turning very warm, although confidence at this stage is very low.
