Outlook for the UK over the next 6-30 days

UK Outlook for Friday 20 Jan 2017 to Sunday 29 Jan 2017:

The coming week is set to end with a continuation of high pressure dominating across the UK. The best of the sunshine is likely to be to the lee of higher ground in the north where it will also feel mild at times. The south-east will tend to be colder, leading to the risk of overnight frosts and fog. Into the last full week of January more unsettled conditions are likely to spread into the far north-west bringing some spells of rain at times. From this point onwards, though there is considerable uncertainty, the unsettled conditions are likely to spread south and east bringing less cold conditions to all and outbreaks of rain across the country.

UK Outlook for Monday 30 Jan 2017 to Monday 13 Feb 2017:

Looking ahead to the start of February the most likely scenario is that the Atlantic low pressure systems will bring spells of wet weather to all at times, interspersed with drier and brighter interludes. Temperatures associated with this would tend to be on the cold side, but lifted in association with weather fronts. However, there is a weak signal that an area of higher pressure will remain close to the UK, especially into the second week of February, which could give colder conditions for all with the return of overnight frost and patches of freezing fog.
