Rain, sleet and snow in the north easing, leaving the risk of ice. Band of rain continuing southwards across the south, before stalling, then beginning to move north later.

Outlook for the UK over the next 6-30 days

UK Outlook for Thursday 3 Dec 2015 to Saturday 12 Dec 2015:

On Thursday cloud and rain will gradually move away southeastwards as colder, fresher weather with sunshine and isolated showers follows from the northwest. However as we head towards the first weekend in December it will become windy again with gales at times and further spells of rain and showers. The rain will probably be heaviest in the northwest, where there are likely to be some fresh falls of snow, but generally less pronounced across southern and eastern England. The temperature will oscillate between mild and rather cold, but will most likely average out at slightly above average. Then during the following week the latest indications are that the weather will quieten down a bit, especially across southern areas where frost and fog may well become increasingly likely.

UK Outlook for Sunday 13 Dec 2015 to Sunday 27 Dec 2015:

The latest indications are that unsettled, wet and windy weather will most likely return to all parts during mid December, with these conditions expected to continue into late December. Showers or longer spells of rain should affect most parts as Atlantic weather systems move across from the west, these bringing periods of strong winds or gales, severe at times. The temperature is expected to be around or slightly above average for the time of year.
