UK forecast for the next 5 days

Often wet and windy, with some snow in the north.

    This Evening and Tonight:

The north will be mostly dry and cold, with scattered wintry showers in Scotland. A band of rain will bring wet and windy weather to the south, before moving north later where it will initially fall as snow.

Temporary snowfall, for parts of the north, before it turns milder, windier and wetter. Further south will be mild, with strong southwesterly winds, though largely dry.

Outlook for the UK over the next 6-30 days

UK Outlook for Saturday 5 Dec 2015 to Monday 14 Dec 2015:

The start of December looks likely to remain unsettled with further areas of low pressure crossing the country, bringing showers or longer spells of rain, heaviest in the northwest, with snowfall expected at times, for the northern hills and perhaps also to lower levels. Brief settled periods are also expected however, with lighter winds, some sunshine and overnight frosts and fog, as high pressure temporarily builds between areas of low pressure. These brief settled spells will become more likely towards the southeast as we go further into the month, with the unsettled weather shifting slightly to the north of the UK. Temperatures are likely to be variable through this period; mild but often wet and windy during the unsettled spells and cold overnight in settled spells or during snowfall.

UK Outlook for Tuesday 15 Dec 2015 to Tuesday 29 Dec 2015:

The latest indications are that unsettled, wet and windy weather will continue into late December. Showers or longer spells of rain should affect most parts as Atlantic weather systems move across from the west, these bringing periods of strong winds or gales, severe at times. There are likely to be large temperature variations with a mixture of mild, wet and windy weather, interspersed by colder settled spells, mainly for southern parts, and colder unsettled spells with snowfall, mainly in the north.
