    Regional forecast for Highlands & Eilean Siar

    Showers mainly in northeast again, with central and south sunniest.


    Showers mainly focused across Caithness and eastern Sutherland. Best of the dry and sunny weather appearing from Inverness west and south. Winds light from the east to southeast. Maximum Temperature 11 °C.


    Most staying dry but a few showers will continue to push across northeastern coastal areas. Clear spells more widespread in central and southern Highlands, bringing frost and perhaps fog patches. Minimum Temperature 0 °C.


    The vast majority will enjoy another dry and sunny autumn day with light winds. However the northeast will again be cloudier with a few isolated light showers cropping up. Maximum Temperature 11 °C.

    Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

    Cold locally frost start to Tuesday with a few fog patches, then rain spreading from west around mid-day, eventually clearing on Wednesday, before returning from north for Thursday.

    UK forecast for the next 5 days

    Showers in the north. Brighter for most. Windy in south.


    Early fog and low cloud will clear to sunny spells. Some showers in the north but the south will be mostly dry and bright. Windy in the south with gales in the far southwest and rain here later.


    Rain moving into the south tonight with some heavy bursts for Devon and Cornwall in the evening. Drier in north but some showers in east and chilly, with frost possible.


    Bright in the north and it'll stay mostly dry away from the North Sea. Patchy rain will affect central and southern parts, perhaps with heavy showers in the far south.

    Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

    Another fine day on Tuesday with patchy cloud and rain in the south. Overnight fog possible. Some rain in the north on Wednesday and Thursday, drier and brighter further south.

    UK Outlook for Thursday 27 Oct 2016 to Saturday 5 Nov 2016:

    A north-west, south-east split is likely for Thursday with light winds, dry weather and overnight mist and fog in the south-east. The north-west will be wetter, windier with some bright interludes and a risk of gales at times. However, many places becoming settled later on Friday. High pressure then looks to become established across the south for a time, with a good deal of dry and quiet weather around, with overnight mist and fog slow to clear by day. Meanwhile, the north-west could be be wet and windy at times. Temperatures will probably be mostly above the average, but with some cold nights in the south, with local frost. Possibly turning colder as we go into early November as the high moves north-westwards bringing a north-westerly flow for many.

    UK Outlook for Sunday 6 Nov 2016 to Sunday 20 Nov 2016:

    There is a lot of uncertainty with regard to this part of the forecast. At first at least it looks likely that the weather pattern will remain quite blocked, meaning that it will be slow to change and probably a stay a bit drier than normal. With this we are also less likely to see strong winds and the typical occasional stormy conditions that we usually see during the autumn. Given the time of year, and the predominance of a blocked pattern, temperatures may be on the cold side of normal. Later in November we may start to see more unsettled, changeable and sometimes windy weather again, but mainly in the northwest.
